For cats, we actually know the uniqueness of cats, that is, cats are always too high and cold, while dogs are very enthusiastic, and at the same time, they are also very happy to do some interactions with the shoveling officer, so very often, the shoveling officer is able to train the dog and let the dog complete many commands.

But in all these years, I haven’t seen anyone train a cat to be a 100% obedient police cat, but it’s not uncommon to see a 100% obedient police dog!

The key here is actually the cat’s autonomy is too strong, and cats in as one of the human domesticated animals, it is actually a is in a semi-domesticated state, and not completely domesticated like dogs.

Normally cats are also able to run outside on their own and live a normal life, and when they come back home, they are perfectly adapted to having someone in their lives, which is really what makes them so special!

Some scientists want to use cats to do behavioral experiments, but found that there are great differences in the behavior of each cat, which also makes many scientists return home in defeat, but after all, cats are cats, want to make cats completely into a dog then certainly impossible, but is there any possibility, is to make cats to learn some of the dog’s unique skills?

Let’s take a look at this!

A friend’s family has a purebred big cat, but the usual time to look at the cat lazy, so they want to train the cat, so that the cat can become more obedient and understanding preferably like a dog!

So shoveling officer learned to start training cats some small skills, do not say, cats and dogs do differ a lot, like picking up the ball will always learn not, but see other people’s cats their own innate will, this should be every cat is different, right?

But the shoveling officer to the cat shaking hands with the skills actually still very cooperative, simply let the shoveling officer very surprised ah!

So if you want to train your family cat’s handshake skills, then you can learn these six steps!

1. Choose snacks that are suitable for training, not ones that are too hard to chew or too big!

Before training with food must be before the cat eats, otherwise the cat will not cooperate with the pooper scooper after a full stomach, and the standard of snacks, in addition to the cat likes to eat, but also pay attention to not too difficult to chew, preferably small pieces, one or two seconds to eat things!

It’s the frequency of training that won’t suffer as a result, while the more rewards the more motivated the cat is, and if the cat gets excited after seeing the snack, then it’s best to clip it to the leash at the back!

2. Reasonably guide the cat to complete the fixed commands!

For example, to teach your cat to shake hands, start with your cat in a sitting position, then you can use a cat toy, or a treat, or touch your cat’s hand as long as you can get it to raise one hand, and as soon as it does, gently shake its hand while holding the treat in your other hand to the cat’s mouth. You can use a short word, such as “good boy”, to tell your cat that this is what you want when you hold his hand. Eventually, you can get your cat to let you hold his hand while he eats his snack, and then let go after he eats his snack. Some cats are particularly resistant to holding their hands, so you can start with just a quick shake and gradually extend the time.

3. Repeat this many times and slowly turn this into a habit for your cat!

The average cat repeats the second step three or five times before eating, and after a month or so, the cat, even without the inducement of snacks, will extend its hand to you on its own after you say good boy, in which case the training of shaking hands is basically already completed!

Slowly turn this action into your cat’s instinct, and your cat will start shaking hands!

4. Allow the cat to respond on its own without coaxing!

After the cat has stopped resisting letting you hold his hand, you can try holding out your hand to him without guiding him, and if he understands the pattern, he may raise his hand on his own, and then the pooper scooper can hold the cat’s paw and reward him with a tasty treat!

This is both to solidify the cat’s understanding of the handshake command, but also to allow the cat himself to apply this command to some other owner response by example.

5. Gradually increase the instructions from simple to complex!

If every time you hold out your hand, your cat raises it to give you a good handshake, then you can say “shake hands” at the same time. If you say “shake hands” while holding out your hand, the cat will associate this command and your gesture with the action of shaking hands. After repeating this several times, try holding out your hand and saying “shake hands” at the same time to see if the cat will raise its hand, and if it does, it may have understood what you meant.

After all, it takes a long time for a small brain to memorize that much, simplify and then complicate complex commands, and eventually the cat will be able to learn the various commands!

6. Continuously change the venue for training so that the cat can adapt to different locations!

If you are training on a table, next time you can change to another table, if this time it is indoor, next time you can try a different room, if the cat can shake hands with you in different locations, it means it has mastered the skill! At this point you can always ask your cat to shake hands with you once or twice, without having to spend time training specifically.

Save the cat just remembers how to react in this setting and instead responds to you wherever you are!

Then by this time, you have actually gained a cat that can interact with you by shaking hands, of course, this training time actually took more than a month close to two months to train, but the pooper scooper especially need to pay attention to!

Cats are more easily distracted by other things than dogs, so walk away on your own after your cat has interacted with you for a while, and don’t force your cat to cooperate again, you can train it after a while!

And other skills such as high five, pick up things, play dead, roll and so on, in fact, the steps and handshake is much the same, if you want to reasonable training of their own cats at home, you can also leave a message to the controller Oh!

Learn to train your cat scientifically and patiently, and your cat will be able to learn many tricks!

Doesn’t it feel like an accomplishment to look at a cat that is able to shake your hand at any time? Then join in the fun together!
