1. Put on a collar
Before bathing a husky, put a collar on him so that he can be controlled while bathing. This may not work for many well-worn dogs who have been in the bath, but it is a good idea for a husky who is taking a bath for the first time.
2. Plug the ear canal
Plug your husky’s T-shaped ear canal vertically with a cotton swab or tampon (not a cotton ball, which will fall off if the husky shakes his head during the shower). In addition, apply aureomycin ointment to the eye to prevent the entry of bath solution and dirty water.
3. Flush
The direction of the flush is to wash the husky’s head and then its body. Start at the head and gradually rinse back. Don’t grab your head, just go wherever you go.
4. Groom
Soak the husky in the appropriate warm water and gently comb his fur to make him feel comfortable and quiet and ready for a bath.
5. Rub all over
First, apply the bath solution to the back of the husky, rub it from the back to the buttocks, and rub the whole body to lather. Finally, wash the head, ears, chin, around the anus, limbs, soles of the feet and other parts of the husky, all of which should be fully washed. It is important to avoid washing the foam into the eyes of the husky.
If your husky is taking a bath for the first time, or the type that doesn’t cooperate in the bath, try using a collar to help you control your husky, as described earlier. In this case, while you’re gently scrubbing, hold the collar with one hand so the husky doesn’t jump out or get water everywhere.
6. Steady the dog
If the husky is placed in a tub or bathtub to take a bath, the water should be 5-10 cm deep, and a non-slip mat can be placed in the bathtub to let the husky stand firm in the bathtub.
7. Use hair conditioner
Make sure to rinse the bath solution off the husky’s fur thoroughly. After making sure the bath solution has been completely removed from the husky, it is recommended to use a hair conditioner every time. The acid-base balance is conducive to thoroughly removing the bath solution from the husky.
8. Dry the husky
The final process is to comb the husky’s hair until it is completely dry. Sometimes, we see that the top coat of the dog is dry, but the bottom coat is still wet. To prevent the husky from catching cold, please do not let him blow cold air. Dry the husky with a large towel that will completely wrap the husky. Remove the tampons from the inside of the husky’s ears and wipe them clean. Wipe with a towel first, and then dry with a hair dryer.
If a husky can get used to the sound of a hair dryer, the warm air of a regular hair dryer can also be used to dry his hair. To avoid scalding the husky’s skin, keep the hair dryer at least 30 centimeters away from the dog’s coat.
