Dogs often have a small brownish-red sticky stuff in the inner corner of the eye, and then this stuff dries up and condenses in the corner of the eye. The next day, a new brownish-red stuff will be produced and will again condense in the corner of the eye, and over time, the fur around the inner corner of the eye will change color. Dogs with large and convex eyes are easily irritated and injured and need special attention. The eyes are usually washed once a day to remove dust and eye droppings from the eyes. For eye cleaning, use a damp cloth to gently wipe away eye dirt from the corners of the eyes or use a cotton ball with 2% borax water to wipe away eye dirt. Both tap water and eye drops can be used for eye washing.
Other dogs, such as Pekingese and Poodles, have excessive secretion of eye glands and often weep, so they need to clean their eyes more often. The best way to remove tear marks is to order eye drops or wash with boric acid solution. Take 2 grams of boric acid powder and dissolve it in 100 ml of warm water to make a 2% boric acid solution.
For dry eye dirt, use wet cotton ball to wipe clean, such as using a thousand cotton ball will make cotton wool stick to the exterior of the eye. For excessive secretion of secretions, use boric acid solution to wash off. Rinse with care, if drops in the white hair, there will be stains left.
We can use a wet wipe or a wet cotton swab to clean out the dog’s eye, then put drops of boric acid or saline from the corner of the eye, and then wipe the tear spot with cotton. However, when doing so, be careful not to let the boric acid water get into the dog’s eyes.
Take eye drops when your eyes are sick, or receive prompt veterinary treatment.
