Akita Breeding Methods:
Puppy Feeding
Feeding of Akita Puppies Since the gastrointestinal digestive ability of Akita puppies is weak, the food should contain as little fiber as possible and should be soft so that it can be digested. Generally within 3~4 months, porridge food or dry food soaked with water is suitable.
Special note: Akita puppies are prone to diarrhea from eating milk. Because milk and dog milk in the composition is very different. Canine mother’s milk has high protein content, three times that of cow’s milk, for a kind of high protein, high fat and low lactose milk, while cow’s milk is the opposite. Therefore, if the milk or food fed to the Akita puppy contains a high amount of high sugar, its intestinal enzyme to digest lactose is insufficient (genetic factors), it will lead to fermentation in the intestinal tract and cause diarrhea. Puppies before three months are fed four times a day; puppies between three and six months are fed three times a day; and after six months are fed twice a day.
Older Akita Breeding
Some Akitas experience a decline in their digestive system as they age. At this time, older Akitas cannot fully absorb so nutrients and will lose weight, in which case they are suited to more frequent and smaller meals. Some highly nutritious, tasty and easily digestible food is ideal.
Adult Akita can be fed once a day. During the growth period, pay attention to calcium and trace elements, and if you want its coat to look good, you can eat something to beautify the coat.
