1. When the temperature falls below fifteen degrees, the tortoise will enter hibernation, and generally domestic tortoises should never be placed outdoors when they enter hibernation. Before the turtle hibernates, make sure that the turtle’s body becomes an empty state. Otherwise, due to the temperature difference, it may cause the turtle’s intestines to be blocked inside. You can let the tortoise take a warm water bath in advance. This is an effective way to clean out the gastrointestinal system.

2. During the hibernation period, turtles should not be disturbed frequently, otherwise they may wake up suddenly and die. It is also not easy to move a hibernating turtle to a warm place. You should let the temperature around the tortoise slowly rise.

3. You can arrange the hibernation environment of the turtle according to its habits inside the prop where it hibernates. Turtles that like water can put a little water. Then use sponge or straw to arrange a moist environment, or get some moist soil, etc.

4. The most important thing is the water temperature. The turtle’s living environment should be higher than 0℃. When we have a big freeze in our life, we can put a thermostat inside the turtle’s home. Control the water temperature between to 0℃-15℃. This kind of thermostat is sold in the market.
