First, we need to determine whether the Brazilian turtle is just a common cold or pneumonia. Because the cold is in the early stage, while the pneumonia is in the late stage, the medication is also different in different periods. Pneumonia has these symptoms: ① breathe with your mouth open, and make a sound in severe cases; ② Put the Brazilian turtle in deep water. If the body is floating on the side of the water, it is pneumonia.
If you are sure it is pneumonia, things will be serious, but please don’t give up. You must adhere to the treatment and it will be cured.
therapeutic method
1 keep the ambient temperature around the tortoise at 30 ℃. At this temperature, the tortoise’s ability to resist bacteria will be enhanced, and its recovery ability is the strongest.
2 drugs for treatment. Roxithromycin, amoxicillin and vitamin C (gentamicin is not recommended here. Although it has rapid effects, it also has great side effects).
Mix amoxicillin and water in a ratio of one to twenty, and then put the Brazilian turtle in the potion and soak it for an hour. Soak once or twice a day. (soaking potion is only an adjuvant treatment to make the turtle absorb part of the drug first).
If your turtle can still eat, you can wrap roxithromycin or aspirin with feed and feed it to the turtle; If you can’t eat anymore, you need some external force – oral administration. Similarly, mix roxithromycin or aspirin with water, inhale it with a needle tube without a needle, and slowly pour it into the turtle’s mouth. Or the Brazilian turtle is unwilling to open his mouth, so he uses the nasal drip method to give the medicine – 10 drops of the mixed potion three times a day.
5 vitamin C is soaked once every other day and stirred and dissolved with warm water and tablets, which can enhance immune ability. Half an hour to 40 minutes each time (you can go to the drugstore to buy the cheapest tablets. There is no requirement. In fact, the effect is the same).
When the turtle has stopped eating, you can also choose to soak glucose every day to supplement the turtle’s physical strength.
If the tortoise does not get better after a week of medication, it must be changed. Because the turtle has developed antibodies to the drugs used before.
Note: if it’s just a common cold, use lighter drugs and don’t need antibiotics. Just take a bath with Radix Isatidis or Ganmaoling.
