Hedgehog is an omnivore and a small wild mammal. It is mainly eaten by invertebrates, small vertebrates, grasses, fruits, vegetables and other plants in the wild. Caterpillars, ladybugs, small beetles, snails, crickets and earthworms in the wild can be fed, and hedgehogs can eat them.

Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals. When they are bought and fed at home, they can feed the hedgehogs around the evening with the food and water they eat. It’s not very troublesome. We feed hedgehogs at home. We can process them by ourselves. Most of them are raised in proportion to meat, grain, non-staple food, vegetables and other foods that hedgehogs like to eat. Hedgehogs like chicken best in meat, so it’s more convenient for us to feed chicken directly.

In spring, we should pay great attention to the diet of hedgehogs, because after hibernation, hedgehogs wake up, when the weather temperature rises, hedgehogs will feel very thirsty, and hedgehogs will be eager to find water. Before that, we must not feed milk to it when raising, which will lead to the death of hedgehogs. At this time, it is more important than looking for water, that is, looking for a spouse. Before the female hedgehog accepts the courtship, the male hedgehog has to spend several hours in front of the female hedgehog. After this time, its task is completed.

After the birth of the little hedgehog in summer, the little hedgehog has about more than 100 thorns. The little hedgehog has no vision in the first two weeks of life. Small hedgehogs need to be breastfed by female hedgehogs for 120 to 240 days. After waiting for the mother hedgehog to teach the little hedgehog how to find food, two months later, the mother hedgehog stopped greeting the little hedgehog and let the little hedgehog live independently. When the hedgehogs mature, we feed them an average of 40 grams of food per meal.

In autumn, hedgehogs spend most of their energy looking for food and can eat 200 grams of food every night. Adult hedgehogs can generally grow to about 2.5kg. After that, the hedgehog’s main task is to find something to spend the winter.

Winter is mainly responsible for hibernation. We should pay attention not to wake up the hedgehog when hibernating. If we don’t eat and sleep again, we will die soon when hibernating.
