1、Timely medical consultation
Loss of appetite or suddenly not eating is usually caused by infectious diseases, such as canine distemper, canine microvirus enteritis, canine infectious hepatitis, leptospirosis, canine coronavirus disease, toxoplasmosis and so on. There are often other symptoms, such as high body temperature, watery eyes, nasal congestion, lethargy, vomiting and so on. If these symptoms appear, take your dog to the doctor as soon as possible.
2、Feeding anti-feeding tablets
Poodles may also become anorexic if they eat too much, or if they eat food that is not well digested. If this happens, the owner can first stop the dog from eating for a while and feed some elimination tablets or probiotics to help the dog digest.
3、Reduce snacks
If you usually feed your poodle too many snacks, or give your dog a lot of heavy oil and salt food, then it will lead to your dog being picky and not willing to eat dog food. In this case, the owner must be ruthless and not provide snacks to the dog for a short period of time. Feed the dog food at a fixed time each day, leave the food bowl for ten minutes, and take the food away if the dog does not eat. Usually let the dog suffer from hunger once or twice, it can correct its bad habit of picky eating.
4、Regular deworming
When a poodle has parasites in its body, it can also cause a loss of appetite. Therefore, it is important to deworm your dog regularly to reduce the effects of gastrointestinal discomfort and loss of appetite caused by excessive parasites. It is generally recommended to deworm your dog once every quarter.
