It is normal for Shiba Inus to catch a cold and suffer from diarrhea if they are not kept warm when the temperature difference is large. Then, pet owners should think of ways to help Shiba Inu get rid of the cold!

First, do a good job of keeping warm

If a Shiba Inu has a runny nose, coughing, sneezing, or elevated body temperature, pet owners can tell that the Shiba Inu has a cold. If the Shiba Inu usually lives outdoors, the owner should move the Shiba Inu to a warmer room to avoid getting cold again and aggravating the condition. You can also dress your Shiba Inu appropriately or put a hot water bag on your Shiba Inu to keep it warm.

Second, take related nutrients

During a Shiba Inu’s cold, just keeping the Shiba Inu warm is not enough to help the Shiba Inu recover as soon as possible, but it is also necessary to give the Shiba Inu some relevant nutritional supplements. For this reason, pet owners should give their Shiba Inu some cold medicine on top of keeping him warm. In addition, pet owners should pay more attention to the Shiba Inu’s body temperature, intervals to help him take a temperature, if there is a fever phenomenon need to be sent to the veterinary hospital as soon as possible to reduce fever injection.

Third, adjust the diet structure

When the Shiba Inu’s appetite is poor because of the flu, pet owners should also pay attention to adjusting its diet. It is advisable to suspend the feeding of nutritious single dog food. Personally, it is recommended that the Shiba Inu’s diet during the cold period should be mainly nutritious and light food. It is also good to make fruit and vegetable salad with fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement the Shiba Inu’s nutrition. However, pet owners should not feed their Shiba Inus leftovers to save money, as human food is heavy on oil and salt, which is not good for their recovery.
