Recently, a piece of news has been all over the circle of friends and major websites.

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the HKSAR Government reported that a pet dog residing at the home of a confirmed patient of CKP showed a weakly positive test for CKV, and repeated tests confirmed that the dog was infected with CKV at a low level.

For this reason, everyone is in a panic, and many self-published media outlets are making a big deal out of it.

As a result, people are momentarily very afraid that their pets will transmit viruses to them and abandon them.

Many people have been urging online to be careful when keeping pets in order to prevent them from spreading the virus to people.

However, a team of experts from the China Agricultural University conducted experiments on pet dogs in several places, and the results showed that none of the dogs, including those in Wuhan, were infected with the virus.

In other words, there is no interference with pet dogs in Wuhan, so where else could it be worse?

And a closer look at the news reveals a lot.

The researchers tested samples taken from the dog’s mouth, nose and anus, and the results were weakly positive in the oral and nasal samples tested, with two of the three tested reacting and none in the anus. It is possible that a small amount of inhalation is temporary, so it is weakly positive and not a carrier. And the dog itself showed no signs of the disease.

And the news clearly says it’s not confirmed yet, yet it’s being brought up verbally.

Is this ignorance, or is it an ulterior motive for money and heat?

Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to protection in general, but we also need to keep our eyes open and not be blinded by rumors, causing unnecessary panic.
