The Alaskan sled dog is one of the oldest sled dogs in the Arctic, living in Alaska with the indigenous Mahl- emuts people. The dog’s biological lineage has been maintained over a long period of time, dating back to a time when the human-dog alliance was undocumented. It has been suggested that the dog’s ancestry is the result of a mating between an Arctic wolf and a female dog kept by indigenous peoples. Judging by its appearance, it does look a bit like a wolf.
