Socks convey numerous messages from their owners and are widely loved by dogs. The socks have the special smell of the owner’s feet and it is very noticeable. The owner’s feet secrete something different from the rest of the body and the dog associates this scent with residence.

In fact, dogs also love your human’s underwear and t-shirts because they have their own smell and they smell wonderful. Just like dogs have to smell each other’s butts if they want to learn everything about each other, socks tell dogs a lot about their owners.

                           

Different socks are made of different materials that give off different smells. Because dogs like “smelly” things, and the owner’s socks are more “smelly”, the dog likes them more. Dogs also like the size and shape of their socks. A good sock with a good texture and a good “smell” would be a great replacement for a dead critter.
